What type of door is best for hospitals?
HPL laminated doors are the usual choice for hospital wards, ICUs and corridors because the non-porous laminate face is easy to disinfect, resists scratches and dents, and holds its colour. Corridors and stairs also need fire-rated doors.
How wide should a hospital door be for a bed?
Bed-passage doors are commonly specified as double-leaf doors around 1,200–1,500 mm wide overall, but the right width depends on bed size and corridor layout. Confirm with your hospital planner; Dormak makes doors to your exact sizes.
Do hospital doors need to be fire rated?
Doors on escape routes, stairs and fire compartments do, as required by the National Building Code of India and the local fire authority. Dormak makes 30, 60 and 120-minute fire doors.
Are laminated doors safe in wet areas like toilets?
Yes, when they are bonded with D3 moisture-resistant adhesive and paired with water-proof laminated frames, as Dormak does.
