Sizes are typical door shutter sizes in Indian homes and projects; always confirm against your own opening. The wall opening must be larger than the shutter to fit the frame — send us your opening size and we will size the shutter and frame together.
Thickness
How thick should your door be?
Interior door shutters in India are commonly 30–35 mm thick; main and heavy-use doors are usually 35–40 mm. A thicker shutter feels more solid, holds hinges and locks more securely and reduces sound.
Dormak makes shutters in 32, 35 and 37 mm as standard, with other thicknesses on request. The core matters as much as the thickness: tubular particle cores are light and stable, while solid particle and solid wood cores are heavier and better for main doors and acoustic needs. How to measure
Measure your opening in four steps.
- WidthMeasure the opening at the top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest figure.
- HeightMeasure from finished floor level to the top of the opening on both sides. Use the smallest figure.
- Wall thicknessMeasure the wall depth so the frame can be made to suit.
- Send it to usWhatsApp the three numbers (and a photo) and we will size the door and frame.
